Cudne Manowce Restaurant was established in 2012 out of a love for local traditions, ecology, and the traditional cuisine of Warmia and Masuria. The owners, Agnieszka and Tomasz Szmitkowski, source ingredients from local, often small, family-run producers and farms. We are inspired by nature – that’s why we use wild edible plants such as nettle, ground elder, dandelion, wild chives, ramsons, ground ivy, and forest mushrooms.
The restaurant is located on the medieval walls of Olsztyn’s Old Town, with a view of the park and the Łyna River. When designing the interior, we drew inspiration from the traditional architecture and ornamentation of Warmia and Masuria – including shutters, timber framing, red brick, tiled stoves, and patterns from traditional dowry chests.
We also run our own eco-friendly permaculture garden with raised beds, where we grow vegetables, fruits, and edible flowers for our kitchen.
We are proud long-time members of the Culinary Heritage Network of Warmia and Masuria.
Together with the best restaurants and food producers in the region, we co-create the Warmia Culinary Trail – look for printed maps in the finest local restaurants or visit WarminskiSzlakKulinarny.pl.
